Engineering expertise

Paul Morgan

Technical Director

Paul is our Technical Director, overseeing all technical and production operations at Cheshire Tool Company. With over 50 years of experience in the precision metal pressings industry, including 20 years at CTC Pressings, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the business. Starting his career as an apprentice Toolmaker, he progressed through press tool design and engineering into senior management roles, including Toolroom Manager, Press Shop Manager and Manufacturing Director.
Phillip Carr

Managing Director

Phil is a qualified accountant with extensive experience in the engineering sector, having previously worked in corporate finance at KPMG and held Finance Director positions within private equity-backed businesses. In 2007, he led the management buyout of Cheshire Tool Company, joining the business as Finance Director before being appointed Managing Director in 2013. Today, Phil provides strategic leadership, oversees relationships with key customers and plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s continued growth and success.
Nick Atkinson

Sales & Commercial Manager

Nick is our Sales & Commercial Manager, bringing over 25 years of experience in sales, business development and commercial management across a variety of industries. Having held senior roles with companies including FireAngel Safety Technology and Qvis LED Lighting, Nick has a proven track record in developing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships and driving growth. At Cheshire Tool Company, Nick is responsible for strengthening existing customer partnerships, exploring new markets and supporting the continued growth and success of the business.

From concept to production

Cheshire Tool Company partnered with Hubbell to support the development of a new product, providing engineering expertise and collaborative input on design, material selection and manufacturing methods.

Through multiple stages of prototyping and testing, we delivered an integrated manufacturing solution incorporating precision presswork, laser cutting, tapping, screwing and finished-product packaging.

One million precision components

Cheshire Tool Company collaborated with Siemens to accelerate the development and launch of a new motion drive, contributing specialist manufacturing expertise during the design stage.

We developed precision progression press tooling and dedicated tapping and screwing fixtures to enable efficient, high-volume production.

The solution supported a faster route to market and the manufacture of approximately one million component parts.

Cheshire Tool Company partnered with Pestfix and Reactive to manufacture bespoke metal frames and structures for pest prevention in commercial properties.
